Day 14: Welcoming The Second Jummu’ah of Ramadan

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa noodiya lis-Salaati miny yawmil Jumu’ati fas’aw ilaa zikril laahi wa zarul bai’; zaalikum khayrul lakum in kuntum ta’lamoon
O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!

SubhanAllah, we have reached the second Jummu’ah of Ramadan as well the 14th day for this holy month. We are aware of our duties during a Friday/Jummu’ah on a regular basis; however, what is it that we must be doing during a Friday in Ramadan?

Before we get in to that, let’s remind ourselves with a list of the basics to do during a Friday based on the Sunnah (doings) of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

  • Take a bath/shower
  • Cleanse oneself well
  • Cut nails
  • Put on clean and fresh clothes for prayers
  • Recite Surah Al-Kahf
  • Send Durudh upon the Messenger PBUH

In addition, it works in great favour for us to give charity, sadaqa and khaiyrat on a Friday. Now that we are aware of the basics, we need to double the supplications for a Friday during the month of Ramadan. Below is the link to the post where you will find supplications for Dhikr of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى below.

Day 4: Supplications Towards Earning Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى Mercy & Peace of Heart

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “On the Day of Qiyamah, at all places the closest to me will be those that have read the most number of Durood.” (Sa-daatud Daarain)

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “He who sends a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allah rewards him ten times and ten good deeds are recorded in his book of good deeds”. (Tirmidhi)

In addition, we must send our regards to the Prophet PBUH through the following examples.

If we make any one or all of the above along with other Durudh’s a part of our life, we can be assured to be blessed with Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى mercy and forgiveness. To earn even a bigger reward, try to feed people with iftar at your home or at the Mosque.

Jazak’Allah-e-khairun for reading through. may Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى reward us all for our efforts towards becoming better Muslims and human beings.

Much Love,
