Day 27: Tonight Could Be The Night Of Al-Qadr

Wow, how unbelievable it is to see Ramadan swift by so smoothly & quickly?! For me, it was a very sound Ramadan Alhumdulillah. I got a chance to use this platform to reach out to the many of you while providing information about Ramadan to those unaware of its value. As we are coming closer to the end of Ramadan, we must not forget the immense rewards in the last couple of nights. I know, I know, we are all busy preparing our clothes and the get together lunch/dinner plans for family and friends. But, let’s all put that aside for tonight, shall we?

Narrated `Aisha: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 4)

Although, it is best known to Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى of exactly when the “Night of Decree” is, we have been given clear notice for it being in any one of the odd number of the last 10 nights. Therefore, we must exert extra efforts in these nights to gain rewards and peace. Amongst the scholars, there is debate whether the night of 27th Ramadan can be considered Night of Al-Qadr or not; however, since, we do know it may be during the odd night, we must continue our journey of supplications.

Take a look at the following noble words of the Messenger Peace Be Upon Him.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Some men amongst the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were shown in their dreams that the night of Qadr was in the last seven nights of Ramadan. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “It seems that all your dreams agree that (the Night of Qadr) is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it (i.e. the Night of Qadr) should search in the last seven (nights of Ramadan).

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 2)

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a night which is better than a total of 83 years!! What does this mean?! Praying during this night is equivalent for that of praying for 83 long years! Can you imagine the immense and unlimited rewards for this? Its definitely a food for thought.

What Do We Need To Do

Hence, we need to prepare for the night in the following means:

  • Wear clean clothes
  • Prepare for extra supplications
  • Increase Dhikr of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى
  • Recite Surah Qadr, Surah Dhukan, Surah Fath, Surah Yaseen & Surah Ar-Rahman
  • Offer nawafil with Surah Qadr in each rakah after Surah Fateha
  • At the end, make a long and sincere dua to the Almighty for everything and anything we wish for in both our lives
  • Never and I mean NEVER let go of Hope in the only Creator of this universe

InshaAllah, I hope this helps us all. May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى  help and allow us all to gain the most out of tonight.

Much Love,
