MashaAllah we are in to the 5th day of Ramadan already! It seems to be going way too fast and for Muslims, there is nothing more saddening than this fact. However, an uplifting factor is the blessings gained by taking advantage of extra prayers and supplications throughout the month.
Ramadan is divided in to 3 parts which consists of 10 days each. Each of the sets of 10 days have a different purpose and meaning behind them. Today, we shall be going through the first Ashra (10 days) of Ramadan. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى, out of His bounties and mercy gave us the chance to be able to gain extra good deeds throughout the 3 sets.
First 10 days represent the Mercy of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى. He سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى provided us with a specific supplication (below) to get the most out of His trait of being Merciful towards His people. Although, He سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى provided every blessing upon us despite the fact that we are ungrateful at times, He سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى bestows triple the amount of that Mercy in the month of Ramadan. The condition is for us to plead to Him for this mercy and bow down in front of our maker. Not only should we be doing this for our sake, but to show sincere appreciation to the one and only God whom has bestowed us with infinite amount of blessings including proper health and the ability to move around independently on a daily basis. Little do we count the minor blessings.
So, what must we be reciting throughout the first ten days of the Holy month?! Below is the supplication to recite as much as one can during these 10 days of Mercy. What it translates to is the following: “O My Lord & sustainer, please have mercy upon me”.
Doesn’t this sound like an amazing deal? All we need to do is recite this to the maximum amount we easily can and gain Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى mercy and forgiveness. This not only provides us with a peace of mind and heart, but stronger bonds amongst our relationships with others, and countless blessings in our work or goals.
