Embracing Ramadan Blessings With Pride

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem

Hello & Asalamualaikum Lovelies!

I want to begin by Wishing you all Ramadan Mubarak for another year which Alhumdulillah, Allah (GOD) has bestowed upon us and blessed us with this holy month. A month during which we can once again renew ourselves and become the purest that Allah (GOD) wishes and allows.

Welcome to Ramadan 2017. For those of us who are not aware of the basics of Ramadan, lets acquaint ourselves to begin with.

Ramadan begins with as the new moon is sighted according to the Islamic Calendar. This month is considered to be one of the holiest and blessed months for Muslims around the world. So what is it that Muslims actually are supposed to do during Ramadan?

Fasting is one of the 5 main pillars of Islam which are obligatory upon every Muslim male and female. Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for an entire month, for the sake of Allah (God), in search of peace, prosperity, harmony, and success in not only this life but the life after death as well. Above all, the main purpose is not only to gain God’s acceptance, mercy, and blessings but also to achieve spiritual contentment. Also, during this month, the Quran was revealed upon the Messenger, Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. The Quran is not only a teaching but acts as guidelines to lead righteous lifestyles without harming those around us and fulfilling the rights of us and others.

‎”Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong)..” (Quran: 2:183)

This means that one month out of 12 prepares Muslims to cleanse ourselves mentality, physically, and spiritually. Ramadan teaches Muslims to refrain from evil deeds, backbiting, slander, spreading bad, & gaining control over our mind and spirit to be able to take better control over difficult situations and ourselves.

It is a month during which the gates of Hell are closed and the Mercy of God welcomes everyone towards Heaven as the gates are opened wide to enter.

During Fasting

So, as a Muslim fasts throughout the day, they are to refrain from all of the above so to better their inner selves. Other prohibitions include no food or drink until sunset and no sexual intimacy before sunset and after sunrise. Above all, Muslims are to increase their supplications, prayers, and good deeds for not only themselves, but for the benefit of God’s people on earth.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be  forgiven.” [Bukhari]

So, I begin with making a supplication below.

” Ya Allah, you are the most compassionate, the most Merciful and beneficient, the most Gracious and the sole Provider to us. No doubt, you are the best of Wali’s (protectors) for us, and You have provided for us despite our sins and unthankfulness. We are extremely thankful to you Ya Rabul Alameen for blessing us with this month in which You have provided for us your unlimited Mercy, forgiveness, and Love. Ya Allah, You are kind and Forgiving towards your Makhluq (people). We begin this month with Your Permission, we ask that You guide us towards accomplishing the true meaning of Ramadan and help us attain Jannah and Accept our fasts and prayers during this month. Surely, You are most Gracious and Powerful. “

So, I hope this benefits all of you. I encourage and welcome questions and conversations from everyone from different backgrounds. I will be posting as we move along in to the month of Ramadan with many other factors to benefit from.

Much Love,
